I was so excited to read this ever since I saw it on BookTok. I was so worried that it would be too cheesy for my linking, but there was just the perfect amount of cheese.
(Review Contains Spoilers) The main character Olive, is a PH.D. student who has sworn off love. In an attempt to thoroughly convince her best friend she is no longer interested in their shared love interest, Olive kisses the first man she sees. Except in very bad judgement, Olive kisses this man in her lab hallway and this man happens to be a (hotshot, asshole) professor, Adam.
Their kiss leads to months of a fake relationship that is mutually beneficial, until Olive realizes her feelings are very much real. At an out of town conference, Olive’s plans get flipped upside down which is when everything becomes very real for both Olive and Adam.
The Love Hypothesis is pretty predictable, but it ended up throwing me for some loops that I enjoyed! It was a happy, fun read.
The “nerd” characters, science gibberish were a great additive but most importantly WOMEN IN SCIENCE. I also liked how sexual and emotional abuse were added and conquered.
