Tracie’s Version

Taking place in Melville Heights, a sleepy little town filled with upper middle class families. One day, someone is murdered in their own kitchen.
In a town where everyone is always watching each other, there is no way the murder will get away with it… but it wouldn’t be the first time Mr. Fitzgerald got away with a heinous crime.

I want to love Lisa Jewell, I really do. But so far her books have felt average to me.
This one in particular didn’t grab my attention well and the characters seemed pretty under developed.
The story line was less than shocked and just kinda felt merp.

Maybe it’s my fault for having high expectations for Jewell but this didn’t feel as suspenseful as it should have. I found myself really wanting to put it down and not really caring what happened and who did what.
I think there was a lot of untapped potential.
