Tracie’s Version
1960s California – there isn’t room for a woman chemist. But that doesn’t stop Elizabeth Zott from trying.
It’s clear from the beginning she will do whatever it takes to follow her passion and live out here dream, but when an unexpected death happens leaving her with an unexpected pregnancy, she is forced to roll with the punches.
Through all the trial and tribulations Elizabeth faces, she never lets it hinder her and ends up making herself a household name.
I really enjoyed this book. I was everything I love in a book. I love an underdog story. I love a single mom story. I love a good dog POV. And I love a women in science story.
Elizabeth doesn’t diminish her dreams when she becomes a mother and yet she is the best mother none the less and I think that is a lesson a lot of moms need to hear.
It was heartwarming and inspiring. You cannot help but immediately fall in love with Elizabeth. The dialog was engaging and Elizabeth is dry and quirky!
I loved how the story ties together and leaves the characters better than we found them.
Everyone gets their happy ending and that is what I really needed to read.
