Small town boy meets city girl. What could go wrong!? 🤠

Okay, but really… This book was beyond cute (& predictable – lol). We learn right away how Alexis and Daniel meet and their connection was pretty instant. Daniel was honestly perfect? Like, Ali’s only issue with him, besides the distance, was their age difference, so right away I am rooting for this man!!

Alexis and Daniels lives are so completely different from one another. Alexis is a part of a successful line of doctors who have all worked at the same hospital – along with her ex- boyfriend. She knows only a life of privilege. On the other hand we have Daniel, a country boy who owns a small B&B, is a carpenter, AND the mayor of his small town. If it were not for Alexis’s car troubles as she passed through his town, these two probably never would have crossed paths.

It all starts as a joke, then a fling, then a friends with benefits situation, and now they’ve both realized the next step, but can’t commit. They both knew it would end before it even started.

It was hard seeing Daniel so devoted and into Alexis when it felt like she always had one foot out the door. It made me feel kind of bad for him sometimes. I know she had her reasons and didn’t want to get hurt (and was also dealing with the aftermath of a bad breakup) but he really fit her into his world, while he was only a secret in hers.

Both characters went through struggles but ultimately I would consider this a happy ending type of book, so if you’re in the mood for cute, happy romcom – look no further!
