When I picked this book, I really wasn’t looking for much. The cover was pretty and it was a Reese’s Book Club pick which drew me in, but the GoodReads rating wasn’t anything great (GoodReads ratings are my holy grail when it comes to picking out a book 😂). With that said, this book completely surprised me – in such a good way!

The premise of this book is nothing like I’ve read before. It’s a contemporary fiction, but also kind of suspenseful and fast-paced. It’s also told in two different timelines (past and present) that eventually merge into one. The topic of this book was both unique and wildly entertaining!

When Lucky, the daughter of an ex-conman, finds herself as the winner of a lucrative lottery ticket, but also is wanted on behalf of a crime she committed with her boyfriend, she must get creative. But knowing her past, she’s forced to not trust anyone, and more so, she’s stuck in a morality pickle.

I felt like I was really rooting for Lucky during this book. You can tell she really wants to change the way she’s always lived her life, but she doesn’t know how to be anything but a scam artist.

I gave this book 4/5 ⭐️’s and would definitely recommend to a friend!
