Tracie’s Version
Anne and Marco’s worst nightmare comes true when they make a foolish mistake. A crime is committed and they are the main suspects. As the investigation unravels, they both have secrets reveal which leads to their marriage falling apart and a dramatic story climax.
I was shocked and the ending left me breathless. This plot is what my biggest fears are made of, which made me slightly hesitant at first but ended up enjoying it.
This was a very fun and fast read. I enjoyed the tricks Lapena played on my brain and was very appreciative on how it came full circle in the end.
I was a little confused throughout that the “Couple Next Door” wasn’t a larger part.
The empathy I felt for Anne throughout was stressful and what was even more stressful was how stupid Marco was and how much I hated their neighbors. The lies and betrayals really had me questioning all the characters and wondering how well you truly know those closest to you.
You never know what’s happening on the other side of the wall.
