I must be on a Taylor Jenkins Reid kick! I loved Daisy Jones and The Six so much that I wanted to pick up one of her “older” books next.

Maybe in Another Life was such a cute, easy read – I really enjoyed it!

This book is about how one decision can lead us down many different paths in life. Hannah just moved back to LA after moving around city to city and working odd jobs throughout her twenties. The story is told in two parallel timelines based on the after effects of her night out. At the end of the night, she’s met with the decision to either stay at the bar with her High School ex-boyfriend, Ethan, or go back home early with her Best Friend, Gabby. As the reader, we get to see how both scenarios play out from that night.

Although both scenarios are very different from one another, they both go through highs, lows, and consequences.

I found all the characters to be so relatable, especially the friendship between Hannah and Gabby. I loved that the constant in both scenarios was how loyal Gabby was as a best friend to Hannah. Everyone needs a Gabby in their life!

I enjoyed the overall message of this story, and it wasn’t too preachy! Although in the end, both stories wrap up in “perfect scenarios”which is not always realistic, I think it fit this book!
