WOW wow wowwww…

This was such a twisted novel! I love the way Lisa Jewell carefully plans out every single detail in her writing – each little detail eventually has a bigger meaning.

Ellie Mack goes mysteriously missing one day on her way to the library. While the authorities rule her a “runaway”, her mom, Laurel Mack, knows her daughter wouldn’t do that. Unfortunately, the case runs cold. Her marriage falls apart and she loses her connection with her other two children.

One day Laurel meets Floyd and everything changes. Floyd entertains her on dates and introduces her to his daughter, Poppy, who shares striking similarities to Ellie. Now, I know what you’re thinking… because I thought the same thing. But, there’s really so much more to the story! Lisa Jewell has a way of making you think you know what’s going to happen, and then she completely surprises you!

This book got 4/5 ⭐️’s from me. The only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars, is because there were a few times I got a little bored – which is weird because this was a pretty thrilling book! My desire to know how it ended made me want to skip through some of the details, but in the end it was wrapped up so well!

When I read the GoodReads synopsis, I had a pretty good idea of what was going to happen before reading the book, but I never would have imagined HOW or WHY it went down the way it did!

This is the second Lisa Jewell book I have read and I am quickly becoming a huge fan of her writing. I would 100% recommend this book to someone looking for a psychological thriller.
