This book was a cute and kind of spicy 🌶 read! I don’t read a ton of romance novels, but I felt like this book included so much more than just romance. Sure, that was a big part, but it also included family drama, business ventures, and parental expectations.

Mac starts her first year at Garnet College near Avalon Bay, a quaint beach town with a population of mostly tourists, college students, and of course the “townies”.

Her life is going well, for the most part. She has her own online business and a steady relationship with her boyfriend, Preston. Everything in her life is planned out for her. However, we realize Preston is not what he seems.

Enter Cooper Hartley, a good lookin’ townie who works construction and odd jobs in the Avalon Bay area. But one thing about Cooper is that he loathes the trust fund kids that go to college at Garnet… until he meets Mac! Mac and Cooper fall for each other hard, but Cooper has been keeping vital information from Mac that would ruin their relationship.

I will say, it took me a hot minute to get into this book. I read the first 100 pages and then didn’t care to read it for a few days. I just didn’t feel drawn in at first. But once the book picks up a bit, it was really good! If you like romance novels, I would definitely suggest this. To me, romance novels often run the risk of coming off really corny, which makes me criiinge, but I didn’t find this one to be too corny 🌽 .

I gave this book a 4/5 ⭐️!
