My (Tracie’s) first book of 2022 and I read this book in one day. Colleen Hoover is just too good. I know if I pick up one of her books that I won’t regret it and will also not be able to put it down. I am always completley sucked in to her story lines, characters and writing style.
“Damaged people recognize other damaged people. It’s like a club you don’t want a membership to.”
Spoilers Ahead: Beyah has had an incredibly tough, poverty stricken life. The overdosing of her mother leads her to move across the country for the summer to Texas with her wealthy father and his new family.
The plan was for Beyah to wait out the summer before she could start the next chapter of her life at university, but meeting Samson unexpectedly changed Beyah’s plans and her life’s trajectory.
The twist and turns of the story line during their few short months together kept me white knuckled and gripped onto my kindle to figure out what was going to happen next.
A beautifully written story of two broken people, finding heart bones. The ending made me cry more than I would like to admit.
